Privacy Policy — SpendScopio

SpendScopio ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal-finance app that categorizes your expenses on your device. This policy explains what we do — and, more importantly, what we don't do — with your data.

The short version

• Your financial data lives on your device. We do not keep it on our servers.
• To read and categorize what you upload, the app sends the minimum necessary content to our processing service, which uses it only to produce the result and then discards it immediately. We never store your statements, receipts or transactions.
• We don't use advertising, we don't sell data, and we don't embed third-party trackers.

What data the app handles

Stored on your device (not sent to us): your transactions, categories, rules, breakdowns and settings are saved locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. We have no access to it.

Sent for processing (transient, not stored): when you import a statement, scan a receipt, or ask the app to categorize, the app sends to our processing service:

• the content you provided (text, a CSV/Excel/PDF, or an image of a statement or receipt);
• the relevant transaction details (date, description, amount);
• a randomly generated app identifier that is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.

This content is used solely to parse and categorize the data and is discarded immediately after the response is returned. It is not stored, profiled, sold, or used for advertising.

Third-party processors

• AI processing. We use AI providers to parse and categorize your data. Depending on availability, this may include providers located outside the European Union (e.g. in the United States). These providers process the content to generate the response and do not retain it for their own purposes. By using the app you consent to this processing.
• Purchases (Apple & RevenueCat). Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check your subscription status, identified only by the anonymous app identifier above. We never receive your payment card details.

Analytics

We do not use Firebase, Crashlytics, or any third-party analytics SDK. We may consult Apple's aggregate, anonymous App Analytics in App Store Connect (downloads, sessions, retention). This data is not linked to you as an individual.

Children

SpendScopio is not directed at children and is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

Because we do not store your data, there is nothing on our side to access, export, or delete. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. Under the GDPR and CCPA you may still contact us with any privacy question and we will respond.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
